BLOOMINGTON -- Online Profile 24-7, a new service that marries Website technology, design, content and marketing, has been launched bydowntown Bloomington's Business Builders.
Started two years ago as a division of Flatlander Industries,Business Builders specializes in analyzing businesses and developingmarketing strategies, public relations, advertising and Web sitedevelopment.
"Online Profile is a natural outgrowth of Business Builders. Weoften see good Web site designs, but the company has no way to marketthe site. It's a problem we've seen over the past two years," saidDick Eikenberg, president of Flatlander and Business Builders.
Dan Lloyd, a Normal native, serves as the primary Web designer forOnline Profile 24-7. He recently returned to Central Illinois afterdesigning presidential candidate Web sites for Right Click, aWashington, D.C., Web design firm.
Taking a page from Business Builders, each Online Profile projectbegins with analysis of a company's products, services and goals.Research may involve studying the company's competition and itsindustry.
Then a customized Web site is designed. A marketing team creates astep-by-step program to sell the site to customers. Eikenberg notedthat Flatlander is gradually moving toward Internet sales to maintaincustomer service but eliminate trips to clients in far-flunglocations.
"We haven't seen anybody else in Central Illinois marketing Websites for companies. There's such a misunderstanding of what the Webcan do. Some of that stemmed from failures of the dot-coms," saidEikenberg. "The under 35s don't use Yellow Pages. They go to the Net.Companies are seeing that they need to be on the Web."
Online Profile will allow businesses to demonstrate their message, product, and reputation 24 hours a day, said Eikenberg.
Flatlander Industries is the parent company of Business Builders. It provides embroidered and imprinted corporate casual wear tocustomers throughout the United States.
