Patton State Hospital nurse arrested

A Patton State Hospital nurse suspected of possessing childpornography has been arrested, sheriff's deputies said.

Hospital employees reported that Thomas Myers, 49, of Yucaipa,described as a "tech/nurse," was showing inappropriate photographsof women on his cell phone to employees and patients, according to asheriff's news release.

Investigators reportedly found a video on his cell phone thatappeared to be child pornography, according to the release.

Deputies served a search warrant on Jan. 12 at Myers' home andrecovered computers and other electronic storage devices that theyplanned to examine.

Investigators arrested Myers and booked him at Central DetentionCenter in San Bernardino on suspicion of possession of obscenematter/child pornography. He was transferred to West valleyDetention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. His bail was set at $25,000.

Investigators do not believe the images on Myers' cell phone areof Patton State Hospital patients, and the apparent childpornography appears to have been taken from the Internet, accordingto the news release.

Man arrested after break-in

A Crestline man was arrested after a home was broken into,sheriff's deputies said.

Michael Lorenz, 39, was booked into West Valley Detention Centerin Rancho Cucamonga on suspicion of burglary and violating parole,sheriff's officials said.

A San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy came to a home on SanMoritz Drive in Crestline at 10:20 p.m. Sunday to investigate aburglary alarm.

The alarm turned out to be accidental, but then the deputy heardglass breaking at a home across the street.

Lorenz was found inside the other home without permission to bethere, deputies said.

VICTORVILLE

Three arrested after hit-and-run crash

Deputies arrested a man and two teenagers Monday in connectionwith a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle.

Dispatchers received a report of the accident about 7:15 a.m. onBear valley Road, just west of Armagosa Road. The crash victim tolddeputies that a car - later found to be stolen - struck his truckand continued on until it hit a pole and four or five males exitedthe car and fled on foot.

An investigation led to the arrest of Devontae Daniels, 18, ofBloomington and two boys - a 15-year-old from San Bernardino and a17-year-old from Bloomington.

Deputies said the car was stolen from the area of Bear ValleyRoad and Mariposa Road, according to a sheriff's news release.

The three were booked on suspicion of grand theft auto andpossession of stolen property. Daniels was booked at the VictorValley Jail. The minors were booked at Apple Valley Juvenile Hall.
